Gypsy’s Grave Yard

Posted on January 13th, 2008 by admin in Upcoming Investigations

The townfolks walked away from the abandoned gypsy campsite, their pants damp and stained with the color of blood.

They hadn’t welcomed the gypsies with open arms and the gypsies, even in the 1820s, had powers beyond the comprehension of ordinary men.

The gypsies were told to leave what would later become Crown Point because townspeople had heard tales of pagan rituals and disappearing livestock.

When an influenza epidemic hit the gypsy campsite southeast of town, the townspeople refused to help or provide medicine to the gypsies, many of whom died and were buried in earthen mounds near the campsite.

Because of that, the townspeople and their descendants would forever pay a price for their inhospitable attitude — the gypsies had cursed the city and their dead haunted what would later become South East Grove Cemetery.

Woodlawn Farm

Another farm that has been family owned for the biggest share of a century. We hope to catch EVPs and possibly some video evidence.

Krick Farm

We investigated an old farm that is owned by 2 of our members. I do not want to say the location because of people wanting to dump trash and destroy property on this farm. The farm has several buildings on it, an old abandoned house, several small buildings, a large barn and grain crib. Several years ago a caretaker of the property committed suicide in the crib. I on many occasions have gotten abnormal feelings while being in the crib. Basically the sense that someone is in there with you when you are the only one there. We were all excited hoping to at the very least capture some possible EVPs in the crib area. We did a small walk around of the property including the house. We did not enter the house for the fact that it is very dangerous and weak in the floor in spots. We snapped pictures with the digital camera and took video of the walk around of the house. They turned nothing up in them. We then decided to walk to the crib and try and do some EVP work in the area that the caretaker had passed away. Right away I got the feeling that I always do in the crib. One other of our members said she felt the same thing, it was like a heaviness and sadness that falls on you. I started the voice recorder and started asking questions as well as the other members of our group. It was very cold that night and we stood in the crib about 30 minutes hoping to capture some EVPs. All together we were at the property for about 1 1/2 hours. Upon reviewing the pictures and other evidence we turned up nothing. We plan to make another investigation of the crib for the simple fact of the experiences me and another member of the group did experience. Also it was very cold that night, and we want to return in warmer weather to do a more through investigation of the farm. I do have the feeling with some persistence we will capture some good evidence from this place.

Cry Baby Bridge Investigation (Rensselaer Area)

Posted on January 13th, 2008 by admin in Investigations

I am sure everyone reading this investigation post has heard of a Cry Baby Bridge somewhere? My internet research show about 15 alone in the state of Indiana and I am beginning to believe that probably every county in Indiana has such a bridge. We didn’t hold much account into this story of a woman throwing her infant over this bridge because she suffered from Post Pardon Depression, at least I think this is the correct spelling? We arrived at the bridge a little before 10pm and started or investigation. It is an old Iron bridge located on a scenic road about 5 mile west of Rensselaer Indiana. The reports we heard were that if you stand in the middle of the bridge you can hear the faint cry of a baby in the distance. We also heard that you can see a woman figure walking the bank looking for infant. Myself and Jeff stood in the middle of the bridge and noticed right away that the bridge does do a lot of creaking and that could be mistaken for a baby’s cry. It was a nice clear night and you could see quite a distance down each bank. No one in our investigative team saw a figure of a woman or heard an infant cry. Basically we heard nothing but the water flowing under the bridge. The bank on both side was a little dangerous to walk at night so we decided not to risk the walk. All in all we came to the conclusion that it is a fabulous urban legend that has been told around the area for many decades. None of us ever got any sensations or had any experiences. I myself don’t think it to be haunted. Just an old bridge that has gotten a story attached to it.

Orbs

Posted on November 4th, 2007 by admin in General Discussion

I as a individual don’t hold a lot of faith in the capture of orbs on pictures or video. Most of the time the are easily debunked. It seems though on many paranormal sites, there is a huge argument over the evidence of orbs. Here is my view.

Most of the time orbs are very easily debunked as being dust, water or even ice crystals in the air, and most of all a dirty camera lense. I have looked at a lot of pictures containing orbs in them and 99% of the time I dismissed them as being one of the mentioned problems above. Now grant it there are going to be a lot of investigators out there that would argue this case. I am not saying every orb captured is a dust particle. There have been some really good documented orb pictures that left me scratching my head. I just don’t get real excited when we as a investigative group capture such evidence.

Mt. Gilboa Cemetery

Posted on November 4th, 2007 by admin in Investigations

October 29th 2007

We recently went to investigate a local church and graveyard named Mt. Gilboa. It is located about 10 miles south of Remington Indiana. We have heard several stories about this place ranging from people getting uneasy feelings, to getting touched, and gravestones that move on there own. We arrived at the church around 10:30pm entered the cemetery and started our investigation. We noticed right off when entering the cemetery we heard several coyotes off in the distance. We couldn’t of asked for any better sound effects if we would have ordered them! We also noticed that trying to do EVPs was going to prove to be interesting with the yipping of the coyotes in the background. We proceeded to the far southwest corner of the cemetery where most of the supposed activity of people feeling uneasy and getting touched had taken place. We snapped some digital photos and ran the video camera there for about a half an hour with no experiences at all. We began to think that most of the experiences that were suppose to happen there were imagined. Basically people in a cemetery at night in the middle of the country would tend to start ones mind to thinking. We did notice some sounds of what appeared to be rustling. But there were many little bushes and we thought of critters in them. We walked almost the entire cemetery with no experiences at all. We never got an uneasy feeling or a sensation of getting touched the entire time we were there. My wife’s grandparents and 2 young brothers are buried in this cemetery. She walked over to take a couple of photos of her grandparents headstone. We then packed up and started off to other destinations that evening. Review of the pictures did not turn up much of anything except a interesting appearance of a big orb above my wife’s grandparents headstone. We are not big believers in orbs. Most of the time they are dust or water droplets or a dirty camera lens bouncing light when someone snaps a picture. What was rather interesting about this orb is that no other anomalies were captured while taking pictures in the cemetery that night. I will post the pictures and let all of you decide. As far as our opinion we don’t hold to much credit in the picture.

Final synopsis of the Mt. Gilboa Cemetery is not haunted. Just a cemetery in the middle of the country.
